Encausticology Wax and Symbolism

Taking encaustic off the panel and diving in hands on to explore its expansive 3Dimensional possibilities . Expect the unexpected as we submerse ourselves into using encaustic in 3D forms . As we examine a wide variety of different materials and substrates for use in encaustic sculpture we will also reflect on how we are drawn to certain basic symbols and the meanings and emotions conjured by them.
Be prepared for an exciting adventure of using a wide variety of materials for use as substrates and armatures, and pigments, as well as casting the wax itself into fascinating forms with multiple uses .

This 6 week workshop introduces new materials and projects each week with quality videos and a FB group to share your work and ask questions . You have forever access and the ability to work as self paced with no time limits or expiration dates after purchase.

We will dive in using multiple substrates for our sculptures including
Papers, wire mesh, plasters, fabrics, clays, casting materials,organic matter and then work with a wide variety of pigments and combinations to further enhance our forms.

all the while considering fundamental repeating forms and their meanings to us personally and as a culture.

As an encaustic artist you will gather ideas for further installations and uses with these forms. An exciting journey awaits !

As with all of my encaustic workshops , I do introduce tools , materials we will be using as well as basic fundamentals of encaustic in an introductory video . However , a prerequisite of ANY of the other Encausticology series or workshops or a working basic knowledge of encaustic is strongly recommended for this workshop.

All of my online workshops have LOTS of content to explore and create with including suggestions and lots ideas for further study and exploration .
