Cyanotypes Advanced Composition and Story Telling

We will be continuing our alternative photographic journey with all new techniques and projects focusing on expanding the visual story through composition and Layering.

We will be expanding the art of cameraless photography creating one of a kind cyanotypes from nature and beyond!

This workshop has been designed for those who are familiar with the cyanotype process and would like to expand, explore , and dive deeper into what is possible. A basic knowledge of creating a cyanotype image is recommended. If this is your first introduction to cyanotypes , my course "Cyanotypes the Art of Cameraless Photography" Workshop has 7 1/2 hours of video content and fun projects to get you started and beyond !

The cyanotype process was discovered by Sir John Herschel in 1842 using photo sensitized paper and UV light, but it was a family friend Anna Atkins that was the first to use them in a series of published books cataloging her magical prussian blue botanical imagery beginning in 1843.

We will continue this timeless process of botanical printing that Anna Atkins used and build upon that, diving fearlessly and deeply to create completely modern artful cyanotypes, exploring composition, and storytelling, completely using these cameraless photographic prints!

My original vision for this workshop was to take the process of creating a beautiful botanical cyanotype print, and drastically broaden that scope by approaching this not as simply another cameraless photography process, but a complete artistic medium unto it's own. Join me for this journey of fearlessly diving deeper to see what is actually possible . You are sure to make exciting discoveries all throughout this process creating completely one of a kind art prints that are truly like magic every time they are developed !

This workshop takes you through exciting projects each week that include techniques for double processing, toning ,masking, creating digital negatives, and multiple approaches to layering in order to create your visual story.

Workshop contains over 6 hours of step by video instruction, + classroom content + FB group for posting questions , photos , and group sharing.

If this is your very first time joining me for an online workshop here is a bit on how they go:

• All of the workshops are self paced so that you can create on your own schedule.

•Larger workshops I break up into a few sections when it first launches so that I am able to keep track and answer questions from a large group at once and it is much easier if we are all discussing the same projects and subject matter , and everyone in the FB group is discussing the same projects at the same time (less confusion ) . This usually means I launch a section at a time on Monday mornings for 3-6 weeks. There is plenty of content and projects in each section to keep you busily creating all week :)))

• All of the workshops have no time limits or expiration dates so that you can refer back to a certain technique or project whenever you like , for as long as you like .

•All of the workshops have classrooms with written content, photos, and step by step video instruction.

• All of the workshops are in the same location on my online school , so that if you have multiple workshops from me you can easily access them all on one site :)
